Douglas Craig joined Michigan Medicine’s Emergency Medicine Research department in 2023. Prior to that he served as principal bioinformatician in the Biostatistics & Bioinformatics Core for Karmanos Cancer Institute at Wayne State University, Detroit. He has worked in both academic and industry research settings across multiple domains, including: medical, automotive, publishing and robotics; has founded two companies; and has wide ranging computational experience in large language models, bioinformatics, computer vision, document management, autonomous vehicles and early computer game design. He earned his MS in Computer Science & Engineering from Oakland University and an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College and holds additional degrees in Engineering Biology (BS), Computer Engineering (BSE) and Philosophy (BA).
